Night to Day

The idea for this photograph came to me late at night as I was lying in bed; as most inspiration does. The idea was to capture the transition from night to day into a single moment. This first photograph was more of an experiment to see how it would work out. Please let me know what you think about the concept

The perk to living in Tucson is that the weather this time of year is absolutely beautiful. What better way to spend an evening than looking over the city and enjoying the sunset.

Thanks for looking!

  1. Hey Robert,
Is this 2 exposures? I like the concept. I think that it could be a little more impactful if their is a stronger distinction between the day and night. Another concept could be trying to capture both a sunrise and sunset in from the same location and merge the two. IDK tho. it might take a wide pano but you could possibly get the sun on both horizons.

    I like it a lot tho. :)

  2. This is three panos. I would have liked to have stayed later, but between this really weird sounding wild animal; and the fact the the parking lot official closed at sunset; I had to get back to my car. I had issues lining everything up. Even though it was all on a tripod; between stitching the panos together and stacking them it didn't quite mesh. I like the sunrise/sunset idea; I would just need to spend a whole day out somewhere! I'm sure I'll be out doing another one though! Thanks for the comments!
