Behind the Scenes

Being a photographer; I like to stay behind the lens. The pictures always seem to end up more flattering that way! That being said, take note; this is one of the rare moments where you will see me in a photograph!

"Practice Makes Perfect," or so the saying goes...

I can't say I will ever be perfect; but I know I will never stop growing. It is so important to find what you are passionate about, and do it, and keep doing it. No matter how much you know, or how good you think you are; their is always something more. Although I am speaking about photography, this principal applies to so many things in life. It is what separates those with a lukewarm passion from those those with a flaming passion. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying strive for perfection; strive after what you love simply because you love it. Every time I go out and shoot I learn something new; and ultimately focus my vision. Each of these pictures have something that caught my eye, something that "worked". None of them are perfect; but they all hold a building block for the future.

"Puddle Dreams"

So what do you do when your faced with an overcast day and the occasional rain shower? You play in it of course! I actually didn't make it out too much today, but I was able to take some pictures this afternoon before it got dark. Being that I live in the desert, I don't have to many opportunities to explore the joy of photographing puddles; and the other world you find in them. I could almost see this becoming a bedtime story; or better yet, a photographic story. Thanks for looking

Sammy

Sammy is a very nice, but camera shy, 19 year old kitty. A while back she had to have his ears removed due to cancer, but thankfully there have been no more problems. I hear that it is fairly common for white-haired cats like Sammy. We really wanted to get some good pictures while she was still around because death is unfortunately a part of life. Perhaps that is why I am a photographer.

Thanks for looking and God Bless!

Windy Point Portraits

What better place is there to spend a January Tucson afternoon than Windy Point; it is absolutely beautiful up there. Considering the name, it was actually pretty calm which was a huge help! This is a place that Tiffy loves to go and spend time; so we decided it would be the perfect place to do the shoot.

Where have I gone?

No, I haven't fallen off the face of the earth; but I did get sucked into the realm of inspiration and education. The past days have been spent up in Phoenix at Imaging USA and it has been an amazing experience! I learned so incredibly much and met some wonderful people. The next week will probably be dedicated to processing the loads of information that I have received.

On a separate note; I was able to photograph my good friend, and amazingly talented musician, Joel Crocco. The original idea was to do the shoot out in front of the Fox Theater; but unfortunately the marquee was never turned on and that idea fell through. We switched gears and headed down by the main library to take advantage of the "light pillars" there. Keep checking back as I am sure to have plenty of news in the next couple of weeks!
