Wallpaper of the Month

I love and appreciate everyone of you who supports my photographic endeavors. As a way of saying thank you I am going to be offering a different desktop wallpaper every month for you to enjoy, and to share. This month's photograph was taken at Copeland Lake just inside Rocky Mountain National Park. The light in the sky comes not from the setting sun, but the distant city lights to the east.

Ashlie and Evan Schoel: A Rocky Mountain Wedding

When it comes to great summer wedding destinations, you couldn't ask for much better than this. Perhaps I am biased being a Colorado boy, but I love the mountains. I have done several shoots for Ashlie and Evan and was thrilled to photograph their wedding; they are always a joy to work with.

The beautiful bride

Ashlie's brother helped put together a surprise slideshow of the couple, from childhoods to times they had spent together.

This is a genuine Ashlie look, as well as an inside joke.

First Dance; it's a good thing I'm not the groom because I don't remember what the song was.

The field across the street provided the perfect mountain backdrop

Blessings to Mr. and Mrs. Schoel, congratulations!

Home from the Road

I returned home from Colorado yesterday afternoon to 114* weather as I passed through Florence. I can't say I'm a big fan of the weather right now; but of course I didn't move here for the summers. Colorado was absolutely beautiful; Highs in the upper 70's, a little rain and a lot of sun. Be sure to take a look tomorrow for some images from Ashlie and Evan's wedding. Until then, here are a couple pictures from my travels.

Santa Rita Monsoon

Here are a couple photographs from my friday night adventure to the Santa Ritas. As you can see I love the stormy weather; and apparently lonely trees.

Lightning photography is a delicate balance between creativity and safety. I aired on the side of caution as much I wanted to get out and have some fun. This photograph only shows the tip of the amazing display we had.

Monsoon Sunset and News

We have had some beautiful weather, and sunsets the last couple days with the arrival of the monsoons. Yeah, it is a little hot and a little muggy; but it is so worth it! I haven't been able to put together another shoot as of yet; but I did get out this evening, although very briefly, to photograph the sunset. Think of it as the mid-morning snack.

Next Thursday the 9th I be leaving for beautiful Colorado; staying a night in Durango on my way to Denver. I spent a year and a half in Durango while going to school and do love it there. The whole drive between there and Ouray is absolutely amazing; one of my favorites and one not to be missed. Expect at least a couple pictures from that stretch of road in the next few weeks. Also keep your eyes peeled for a post from a sure to be beautiful Winter Park wedding.
